Gather up the FYBO station together and drag it the back 40 or down the street to your favorite park! Saturday is approaching quickly for your favorite Winter Operating Event!
The money station, Mike K7DD, has sent out the following plans:
FYBO2025 is ON for this Saturday Feb. 1. My call K7DD is the bonus station. I will be in White Tanks Park, Area 4, at the first ramada closest to the restroom. Look for the antennas! I’ll have the outpost and an Outbacker antenna vertical up as well as an end fed wire, I hope. Rig will be the IC705.
I should arrive at 7AM MST and try to get setup as fast as I can to catch the low band propagation. I’ll attempt to start with 80 and 40 first and then explore the upper bands in order, 20, 15, and 10.
I will be checking out the SSB calling freqs for QRP as I have time. There might be a second op for SSB who can only work 10M as he is a new Technician.
Hope to hear you all on the bands as propagation has been pretty good lately.

I can’t top this, but I might be outdoors this year with a vertical and the KX3. I am deathly afraid of my shadow. In spite of this, the Batteries are charging. CW will be the primary mode around the QRP watering holes, but I might make excursions to SSB if I can find the mic or FT8 using the standard format with a CQ FYBO if I can figure that out between now and then. Cruising an entire band looking for Qs is NOT beneath me.
Attach a mobile antenna to your walker. Altoids box transceiver. You can do this! Come on out! You know from past years, you want to!
